Th sun was shining and the beer was flowing, what better a way to top it all off than with a 6-2 thrashing of Barnsley? Well throw in a Jukey goal as well and all you can say is what a day!

Blues are very likely to confirm promotion on Tuesday, we’ve booked in a trip to Wembley next Sunday as well and it’s clear spirits all around the club are on a high. Party mode was full steam ahead I’d say, at least looking back now.
It’s been a record breaking season and that win put us at 92 points, our highest points tally ever with seven games still to play, we’ve won a record 28 league matches, we remain undefeated at home it’s all great for the history books but the first half yesterday wasn’t great. I was speaking to one of the lads at half time and it was the same thing that so many of us have been saying all season, for all these records and winning games it’s not been amazing. I guess the players must have heard us and responded appropriately.
The first half saw Barnsley have a player sent off in under 3 minutes. Whether this ultimately disrupted the flow of things a bit I don’t know but the first half looked very tentatively and a bit nervy. Keshi looked most likely to open the scoring with a few chances he’ll be rueing not having put in the back of the net, so it fell to a Stansfield Pen to begin things until Barnsley got the equaliser.
Going in at half time square just didn’t seem like the correct result for a team of Blues stature but it is the calm composure of Davies, don’t get over excited but don’t panic either. He said that he didn’t kick up too much of a fuss at half time because he didn’t want to introduce any nervousness but whatever it was he did do worked wonders!
The second half was a whole different game and it was the free-for-all that most fans have been asking for all season. It was a game that definitely entertained and continued Blues unbeaten home run! If Blues can play like that on Sunday it will be a fantastic day all around!
I’ve enjoyed Alfie May getting his mojo back. A few games ago I was feeling for May, it seems as though he’d fallen off the radar a little and went too many games not finding the net but also looking a bit lost for it. Four goals in the last two home games and I think he’s enjoying his football again. In fact everyone looked like scoring the second half, I wouldn’t have been surprised to see a Ryan Allsop goal to boot!
It finished on a real high and I think Blues will only steamroll the rest of the season now. 2 points to promotion, 5 points to win the league and a cup final along the way, it’s a good time to be a Bluenose!
