Blues head into a congested April which sees us playing 9 times, including a week in which we play 3 times in a 7 day period and a Cup Final. It’s set to be a hectic April indeed and kicks off against Bristol Rovers tonight.

Blues made light work of Shrewsbury at the weekend and to be fair I can’t see much different tonight. Bristol Rovers are on a run of three back to back defeats and no doubt looking a little nervously at the relegation zone which is just 6 points behind them. Three points for the would be a huge boost but for Blues it would be one step closer to wrapping the League up.
The two teams behind us, Wrexham and Wycombe, both face the bottom two teams, Shrewsbury and Cambridge United respectively. Both will no doubt be hoping it’s an opportunity to close the gap on Blues a little but I can’t see anything but all three points for us tonight.
The last time the two teams met Blues came away with all three points via a 2-0 victory at St Andrews @ Knighthead Park, after the weekends emphatic victory which saw Blues hammer Shrewsbury 4-1 I think Blues will be full steam ahead. It was fantastic to see Alfie back on the scoresheet and I think with him finding the net again it offers Blues such a great option and route to goal.
I know, like me, many fans are really looking at when Blues will likely win the league. There is a lot of speculation that suggests Blues will likely get promoted on Good Friday and then win the league the following week. Not a bad couple of weeks if we lift the Vertu Trophy along the way as well.
Blues will have a few players out still although the return of Ethan Laird at the weekend was a huge boost, I even saw it described as a “cheat code” which I can definitely see. Blues have far more of a threat on goal with Laird down the wings, especially with Anderson on the ball as well. We can be thankful as well that Stansfield is fit so it really just leaves the long term injuries in Dykes, Wright and Buchanan still all out and more than likely not going to feature again before the end of the season.
On top of these there is also Paik, who is unlikely to return tonight but who will hopefully be fit ahead of Blues trip to Wembley. There is also Krystian Bielik and Taylor Gardner-Hickman who are unlikely to feature tonight.
I think Blues will have more than enough in them to comfortably beat Bristol Rovers tonight and I can see another 2-0 victory here.
