International Call ups mean Blues game against Stevenage today has been postponed despite football continuing in League One. This International Break is designated “Non-League Day” which if you followed me when I wrote Lockthelocks you’ll know is something I’m passionate about.

Non-League Day is an initiative to use the break from the top tiers to support your local non-league team. This in turn gives these community clubs some much appreciated investment through matchday revenue.
The incentive began in 2010 and was started by James Doe. Over the years it has grown with increased media exposure and more fans participating. It also encompasses a series of charity events and raising awareness for things such as Prostate Cancer. It highlights the importance of non-league clubs in the community and how they’re often the heart of it.
For most Blues fans have a small place in their minds for Solihull Moors and they’re in action today as they face Yeovil Town. Moors had been doing quite well the past couple seasons and there was a real chance to go up into the Professional Leagues last season. This time around Moors are 13th in the table and have already suffered more defeats than the entirety of last season, 13 points off the Play Off spots.
Their last five games have been a bit patchy with two defeats, two draws and one win but there may well be hope today as Yeovil haven’t won any of their last five. Perhaps Moors can win today and build on that, trying to close that 13 point gap and make a push for the play offs?
The game kicks off a 3pm today and tickets cost £21. If Solihull Moors aren’t your non-league team of choice you can find your local game via this link https://nonleagueday.co.uk/map/
