Tonight is the night, the semi final of the Vertu Trophy, one more game away from a trip to Wembley. Can Blues replicate their achievement of 30 years ago, winning promotion and the cup? I know I’m not alone in thinking it’s well within the realms of possibility, two games away from half that being achieved and tonight’s opposition will do all they can to make sure we don’t get the chance for at least half of that.
Blues face Bradford at St Andrews @ Knighthead Park tonight, 8pm live on Sky. It has all the elements of another fantastic game but we shouldn’t take our opposition too lightly, we know all too well it only takes one game, one performance. Blues need to be on the top of their game despite having had a fixture heavy February so far.
Davies will no doubt make one or two changes to the starting line up as he has throughout the tournament so far, but you would suspect the big guns are on the bench. Blues don’t want to be going to extra time with such a congested fixture list, to be fair we don’t want to have to call on the big guns either. There are no fresh injury concerns to contend with at least and Davies is saying all the right things in the media to show he is serious about the competition. The city is Blue though and tonight will be an entirely different battle for them!
My prediction is 3-0 Blues!
